Community Connections: Field Trips and Guest Speakers

Field Trips 

Field trips at ILG School are intentional learning experiences that extend the classroom into the local and global community. These experiences are aligned with our curriculum and provide opportunities for hands-on learning, reflection, and interdisciplinary exploration.

All ILG field trips include:

  • A clear educational objective connected to the curriculum
  • Adequate preparation and supervision
  • Post-trip reflection to reinforce learning and improve future experiences

Types of Field Trips:

  • Day Trips: Visits to museums, nature centers, historical sites, etc.
  • Recurring Field Trips: Regular activities such as sports tournaments or service projects
  • Extended Trips: Multi-day trips, including overnight experiences
  • International Trips: Out-of-country travel for cultural, academic, or service-related purposes

In most cases, ILG School covers the costs, including:

  • Transportation
  • Meals
  • Entry fees
  • Chaperone expenses
 
 
Guest Speakers 

We actively welcome guest speakers as a valuable part of our teaching and learning model. These speakers provide real-world perspectives, spark curiosity, and help students connect classroom learning to future opportunities and global issues.

Benefits of Guest Speakers:

  • Inspire curiosity and critical thinking

  • Foster appreciation of diverse viewpoints

  • Offer insight into various careers, hobbies, and life experiences

ILG Summer camp is here!

The ILG School Summer Camp is back! Join us from Monday, 26 June, through Friday, 28 July, from 08:30-15:00. Registration is open to current students, new students, and children that do not attend ILG School from ages 2-16. (Early Years 1 – Grade 11 for the 2023-2024 school year.) We look forward to welcoming you for a summer of fun!
