What is more important
Than sending your children to a school where they love to learn?
The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.

Grade One through Grade Five

ILG School is a candidate school for the IB Primary Years Programme and is implementing the curriculum framework until such time we determine we are ready to apply for authorization, sometime during the 2020-2021 school year. Parent Educational Sessions are held throughout the year to introduce the fundamental elements of the IB as well as to review and explain new policies and procedures that are aligned with the IB.

Parents are encouraged to review the extensive information on the IB Primary Years Programme found on the IB website at https://www.ibo.org/programmes/primary-years-programme/.

Our Primary consists of Grades 1 through 5. Subject areas available to all students are English, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, Performing and Visual Arts, and Personal Social and Physical Education.

The additional languages offered during the school day are French or German and are offered for non-Albanian mother tongue students. Albanian mother tongue students are required to take Albanian. Depending on the student’s Language Profile, limited English proficient students will be required to take English Language Acquisition classes.

Our curriculum is based on inquiry-based learning techniques where children are encouraged and taught to think critically, explore new ideas, search for answers, and become lifelong learners. Instruction is differentiated to accommodate different learning styles and proficiencies. We use inquiry-based pedagogy that empowers students to build on the knowledge they have, to formulate questions and to acquire the skills necessary to pursue and develop deeper understandings. In our changing, global world, studies are information-driven and technologically based, the skills needed for the 21st century. Our approach is holistic and our goal is to create well-rounded students who love to learn, can think critically, and are cooperative, productive members of the school community.
