Ms. Elizabeth Zans grew up in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. She attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she received a BFA and while living in Rome received an MFA from Temple University.
She began her teaching career as a visiting artist in a program affiliated with The Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
She has taught in Indonesia, SE Turkey, and several countries in Africa in IB Programs and across all grades as well as serving as an IB examiner. Elizabeth is a practicing artist who looks forward to sharing her passion for the Arts with her students. She believes all students are naturally creative and that Visual Art encourages students to become lifelong learners who are inquisitive, keen observers of the world around them. She challenges students to question and evaluate information critically, to seek out and explore the links between subjects, and to develop an awareness of their own place in the world.
