Xheneta Ahmeti – Grade 3 Teaching Assistant

Ms. Xheneta Ahmeti holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is currently completing her thesis in Speech and Language Therapy. With nearly a decade of experience working with children, Ms. Ahmeti has focused her professional journey on supporting children with special needs and learning difficulties in different schools and kindergartens in Prishtina.

In addition to her teaching roles, Ms. Ahmeti contributed to the “Education for All – Fulfilling the Rights of Children and Adolescents with Special Needs and from Vulnerable Communities” project, implemented by People in Need, Autizmi Flet, and The Ideas Partnership for 5 months.

Ms. Ahmeti joined ILG in December 2024 as a Teaching Assistant for Grade 3. She strongly believes that “every child is a treasure waiting to be uncovered, and education is the key to unlocking their potential.”

Beyond her professional work, Ms. Ahmeti has a passion for traveling and aims to visit as many countries as possible. She enjoys discovering new cultures, traditions, and ways of life around the world.

Donika Ismajli – EY3 and Visual Art Teaching Assistant

Ms. Donika Ismajli was born and raised in Prishtina. She graduated in Graphic Design from the University of Prishtina and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Innovation Design at the same university. With almost 10 years of experience in design and photography, she has developed a strong creative background.

Ms. Ismajli has been working at ILG for almost one year, where she now serves as a teacher assistant for both the Arts and Early Years 3.

 In this role, she works closely with children, encouraging their creativity and curiosity. 

Passionate about both education and design, Ms. Ismajli uses her skills to develop creative projects that help students express themselves. This combination of experience in graphic design and teaching allows her to support children’s development while continuing to grow professionally in the creative field.

Anila Jashari – Elementary School Permanent Substitute

Anila Jashari, 22 years old, is from Prishtina, Kosovo. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from AAB College and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Tetova in Macedonia.

She is passionate about working with children and has gained valuable experience as a personal assistant to children with special needs. She has worked in kindergartens and elementary schools in Prishtina, providing support and contributing to the development of young minds. She found this work to be incredibly rewarding and is committed to continuing her career in this field.

Lejla Preniqi – Early Years 1 Teaching Assistant

Hi, My name is Lejla Preniqi and I am the Teaching Assistant in the Early Years 1 classroom. Even though I have just joined ILG, I am looking forward to a great school year! 

I was born and raised in Kosova, and for the past 16 years I lived and worked in Ontario, Canada. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in teaching kindergarten from the University of Prishtina, and an Early Childhood Educator Diploma from Mohawk College in Canada. 

I enjoy working with children and look forward to getting to know the community.

Mejreme Hakaj – Nurse and Grade 1 Teaching Assistant

Ms. Hakaj joined ILG School in late 2024. She holds a bachelor’s degree in General Nursing and is currently working on her master’s thesis in Healthcare Management. Her journey with students began during her undergraduate studies, where she was involved in various health education and wellness projects.

Ms. Hakaj’s passion for healthcare and education drives her commitment to supporting students’ growth and well-being. She strives to create an environment where students can develop healthy habits, gain essential knowledge, and learn the importance of overall wellness. She believes that promoting a healthy lifestyle is crucial for empowering students to thrive both academically and personally.

In her free time, Ms. Hakaj enjoys watching movies, painting, and spending time by the sea

Brikena Vokopola – Grade 9 and DP Math

Hi everyone,

I’m Brikena Vokopola, and I’m excited to be joining ILG International School in Kosovo as a Math teacher. I’ve spent the past 12 years teaching in China, specializing in math and science education. Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse curricula, integrating innovative teaching methods and educational technology to make learning more engaging and accessible for students. My goal is to help students develop confidence in their mathematical abilities and see the subject as a valuable tool for problem-solving and critical thinking.

Beyond teaching, I have a passion for lifelong learning and creativity. I love cycling and hiking, practicing yoga, and staying active, as well as traveling to new places to explore different cultures. I’m also a huge coffee lover and enjoy unwinding with good music and art. Most importantly, I adore animals—especially my cat, who keeps me entertained with endless antics!

I look forward to meeting my students and collaborating with colleagues to create a dynamic and inspiring learning environment. Let’s make this a great year together!

Endrita Ibishi – PYP Visual Arts, MYP Design, and Grade 9 Homeroom

Ms. Endrita Ibishi is a passionate Visual Arts and Design Teacher with a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from the University of Prishtina, “Hasan Prishtina”.  She joined ILG School in November 2024.

She has achieved great success in teaching, guiding students through creative projects that have gained international recognition, including being featured on CNN. Additionally, Endrita has work experience in other international schools within Kosovo, where she has contributed to the development of educational programs and successfully led artistic projects.

Endrita is well-suited and has experience working with students of all ages, developing effective teaching methods that cater to various age groups and skill levels. She is deeply committed to helping students discover their unique potential and express it through art. She creates a warm, supportive environment where students are encouraged to experiment, learn from their mistakes, and confidently showcase their work. Ms. Ibishi enjoys traveling, visual arts, and photography, which inspire her teaching and creativity.

Vlora Rexha – Early Years 1 Homeroom Teacher and Early Years Coordinator

My name is Vlora Rexha, and I’ll be the Early Years 1 new teacher for the rest of this school year. In addition to this, I am also taking on the role of Early Years Coordinator.  I will support staff, parents, and students while also fostering a strong sense of collaboration, and working towards building a cohesive and dynamic team from Daycare-Early Years 3.

For the last 32 years I lived in England and I have been teaching for the last 15 years. I am a dedicated and experienced EYFS Lead with a proven track record in delivering high – quality early childhood education. Skilled in creating nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environments where children thrive both academically and socially I am excited to be at ILG.

I am committed to fostering strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues, providing a supportive network that enhances the educational experience.

Larissa Adam – Grade 3 Homeroom Co-Teacher

 

Ms. Larissa Adam was born and raised in Germany. After working as an AuPair in New Zealand for a year she realised she wanted to study internationally and pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in International Teacher Education for Primary Schools (ITEPS) complemented by Minors in Mindful Leadership, International Relations, and Inclusive Education.

 

During multiple internships in Germany, Kosovo (at ILG in 2022) and Malaysia as well as in a semester abroad in Thailand, Ms. Adam was able to gain experience in international settings and enrich her global perspective. 

Recently Ms. Adam acquired a Master’s Degree in Outdoor and Sustainability Education and is very excited to be back at ILG for her first full-time teaching position. She will be the third grade homeroom teacher and is dedicated to fostering educational environments that prioritize both students safety and personal growth. 

In her free time Ms. Adam loves spending time in nature, doing various sports, cooking and expressing herself creatively as well as meeting people and exploring places.

Albana Kqiku – PYP Teaching Assistant

Ms. Albana Kqiku lives in Prishtina. Initially, she started working as a substitute teacher. She has a passion working with kids and enjoys teaching  through play. Albana is a great team member and is always willing to help whenever needed. She has been associated with ILG for over five years. Her enthusiasm and hard work resulted to a promotion and became  in 2023, she joined ILG full-time as an Elementary Teaching Assistant. 

 

Albana has an adventurous spirit and likes to travel around the world to visit new places and get to know with other cultures.
