Diellza Jakupi – MYP Math Teacher and Whole School Math Support (Remediation) Teacher

Ms. Diellza Jakupi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Mathematics Department from the University of Mathematics and Science in Prishtina, currently, she is working on her Master Degree at UoPeople based in California. She is certified for JAVA Fundamentals and JAVA Advance, following this certification at the beginning of her career she was part of the IT Department at the Public Ministry as an intern.

 

Ms. Jakupi has been certified as an International Teacher of English ESOL from Chichester College and certified as TESOL/TEFL from the World TESOL Academy. She was part of different Educational Conferences such as CEESAs summits. Since her third year of university, she has taught Math for Primary and Middle School Students at Private centers and at the same time, she served as a Volunteer Math Teacher for other Institutions. Most recently she worked as a Math Teacher at QSI.

 

Ms.Jakupi is certified for Accounting and Finances and for two years she worked as a Payroll Accountant and Project Accountant for UA Builders and We Work Construction based in New York. Innovation Center of Kosovo ICK was part of her career as well where she worked in Finance Department.

For nearly four years Ms.Jakupi has run her own Math School. Currently, she has 32 Students from different Schools in Prishtina and different countries around the world while teaching them virtually.

 

Ms. Jakupi is also trained in Developing Mathematical Reasoning and implementing the MYP Curriculum from the International Baccalaureate. She has been part of the different Mathematics workshops both in-person and online. She is part of a Yoga group and loves playing Chess!

MYP English Language Acquisition and PYP Education Support Services Teacher (English)

Ms. Merita Morina holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Prishtina. She is currently studying for a Masters in English Language at AAB College.Merita is trained in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP).

Ms. Morina worked as an English Language teacher at the British School of Kosova for a number of years, also in a Public Preschool “Shtepija Magjike”, before becoming a freelance language tutor in both English and Albanian. She is thrilled to be continuing her teaching career at ILG School.

Ms. Morina is really proud that, by sharing her teaching knowledge, she contributes to the educational growth of tomorrow’s decision makers.

Albulena Beqiri Gjikolli – Early Years 1 Teacher

Mrs. Albulena Beqiri Gjikolli received her university degree in Computer Science from the University of Business and Technology – UBT. She holds a master’s degree in General Pedagogy in Education from the University of Pristina. Albulena joined ILG School in 2011 and feels as though ILG School is her second home.

 

Albulena started working with children at a young age and while observing their different behaviors decided to seek a career to help them become awesome human beings. She believes that children are a gift and possess diverse talents and capabilities. She considers it a privilege to help facilitate their learning and academic growth. Albulena believes each student learns in their own way and style. She strives to provide a safe and nurturing environment where each student can have the opportunity to experience success and progress. She believes it is her goal to help encourage students to look beyond the four walls of the classroom and view the world around them as a place of learning and discovery. By doing this, she hopes to instill in them a desire to become lifelong learners.

 

In her family, she is known as a “great chef” because she spends a good amount of time cooking and exploring new recipes, especially for her little son. Albulena loves playing sudoku with her grandfather as it always turns into a fun competition.

Donjeta Shatri – Grade 2 Teacher

Ms. Donjeta Shatri holds a BA degree in Primary Education from the University of Prishtina, Faculty of Education. Ms. Shatri is now trained to teach the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). She joined ILG as the Grade 2 Teaching Assistant in early 2019. Prior to ILG, Ms. Shatri volunteered in the non-governmental organization ‘The Ideas Partnership’ as a fifth grade teacher.

She has worked at American School of Kosova and Bedri Gjinaj Elementary School in Mitrovica, Kosova. Ms. Shatri finds childhood memories are either the fondest ones or the ones that you dread most of all to remember. The force of these memories also suggest that the roles of the teachers are ever so vital in the life of a child. When she is not teaching, she loves doing sports.

Ms. Shatri plays for the Balkan Lynx Rugby Club in Prishtina and she is the coach of the Fushe Kosova Bobcats Kids Rugby Club.

Amanda Turici – Grade 3 Teacher

Amanda is an experienced educator with 16 years of experience in both public and private education. Amanda served in the Peace Corps from. 2008-2011, and is lucky to have lived, and worked, in the United States, Albania, Thailand, and now Kosova. 

 

Amanda graduated from Western Carolina University, in North Carolina with a degree in Education. She has completed several PYP workshops. Her teaching experiences range from high school to kindergarten and grades 1, 2, 3 and 4. She has also presented at multiple English teaching conferences in the Balkans. Amanda recently completed her TESOL certification and is applying to graduate school. 

 

In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her two boys, reading (please send book recommendations!) and learning new arts and crafts skills. She is excited about a new adventure in Grade 3 at ILG School!

Latif Hasi – MYP Sciences Teacher

Mr. Latif Hasi was raised in Drenas, Kosovo. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics, and is currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Physics. He also has a strong interest in mathematics.

 

Mr. Hasi enjoys reading and teaching. He believes that teaching should not be about providing the information for the students, it should rather be about igniting their imagination. 

 

Mr. Hasi looks forward to joining our MYP team as we further develop our Science programme in the middle school.

Ervin Turici – MYP English Language and Literature Teacher

Mr. Ervin Turici is from Albania. He holds a Master’s Degree in English Teaching from the University of Foreign Languages in Tirana.He has received several certificates from International Baccalaureate. He lived and worked in Thailand for two years as a Primary Years Programme (PYP) Teacher at an IB World School.

 

Prior to moving to Thailand, Mr. Ervin worked in Tirana as an English Language Acquisition Teacher for five years, in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). 

Mr. Ervin has served the roles of Personal and CAS Supervisor and Extended Essay Supervisor while working in the Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. He enjoys seeing his students succeed in the classroom and in their careers. He is also passionate about impacting the world and making it a better place for everyone to live. 

 

This will be Mr. Ervin’s first year at ILG School and he is excited for a successful academic year.

Angela Sirera – PYP and MYP Visual Arts Teacher & MYP Design Teacher

Ms. Àngela Sirera was born in the small village of Denia on the eastern coast of Spain. Ms. Sirera has a bachelors of fine arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (U.P.V), a bachelors of fashion design from The School of Art and Design of Valencia (EASD) and a Masters of Education in art and design from The University of Valencia. She has also completed an exchange program from The National Institute of design in India, earning a certificate in textile design.  Ms. Sirera is fluent in four languages: English, Spanish, Catalan and Hindi. 

 

Ms. Sirera has spent five years in the professional design field. She has primarily worked in the field of sustainable textile design and with the emerging technologies of laser, ozone and nanotechnology. Ms. Sirera has lived and worked in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan educating other professionals in the different methods of producing textiles that are environmentally friendly; leaving no footprint on the planet. Her approach to teaching, having bestowed the technical skills of art, design and technology to her students, encourages them to utilize their own creativity, insight and problem solving, while at the same time creating an environment of learning enjoyment.       

 

In addition to teaching, Ms. Sirera is a certified yoga instructor and an avid practitioner. She is a mixed media painter who enjoys swimming, international travel, advocating for human rights, and spending time with her cat Penchito.

Adrijana Petrović – Early Years Specialist Teacher

Ms. Adrijana Petrovic joined ILG School in 2012. She is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT)- American University in Kosovo (AUK). She is currently working on completing her Master Degree of Arts in Education (Innovation in Learning and Teaching) at the University of South Wales, UK.

Adrijana is now trained to teach the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). She is passionate about working with the Early Years and believes in teaching life skills in addition to an ageappropriate curriculum along with creating wonderful school time memories.. Adrijana enjoys her volunteer work with a variety of non-governmental organizations.

Moreover, she is a member of the KETNET (Kosovo English Teachers Network).After completing the ‘’Read Aloud Project’’ sponsored by the US department of State and the Regional English Language Office (RELO) , Adrijana was selected to continue with training other teachers in Kosovo and the region about the importance of read aloud in the classroom and how to prepare full lessons from a single book. Finally, Adrijana is the staff representative currently as well. Adrijana loves to learn languages and already speaks English, Albanian, Serbian, Macedonian,Italian, Turkish and Spanish.

She is self thought and is trying to learn playing the guitar and the keyboard during her free time.

Besarta Isufi – Early Years 3 Teaching Assistant

Ms.Besarta Isufi joined ILG in 2011 and has been working with Early Years students as a teaching assistant. She grew up in Pristina, Kosovo, and graduated with a Master in Childhood Education from AAB University. Ms. Isufi is trained in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP).

She genuinely enjoys nurturing and caring for Early Years. Her philosophy is that each child is unique, therefore they learn and thrive at their own pace. She loves exploring different cultures and speaks English, Spanish, Albanian and understands a bit of Serbian. She likes traveling, reading and spending time with family.
