Jovelyn delos Santos – DP Coordinator, DP Theory of Knowledge, MYP IAS, University Counsellor and Grade 12 Homeroom Teacher

Ms. Jovelyn delos Santos holds a Master of Arts degree in Teaching and a BA in Media Communication. She used to teach at the University level in her home country, the Philippines before she moved to teach in an IB school in Indonesia in 2008. She was the IB Diploma Coordinator and head of language of the same school. Ms. delos Santos has extensive IB training and is an examiner for Theory of Knowledge for the IB Diploma Programme.

 

After her BA, she worked as a journalist in a major broadsheet in her country, the Philippine Daily Inquirer. She went on and taught journalism, development communication and language at the University level before deciding to move to international teaching. Currently, she is a visiting professor for the MA language program of Lyceum of the Philippines.

 

Ms. Delos Santos will be coming to ILG School from her school in Cambodia where she holds the position of director of Model United Nations, language and TOK teacher. She trains middle and high school students in the art of diplomacy, resolution writing and debating. She is passionate about developing students who imbibe the values of tolerance, international-mindedness, caring as well as becoming changemakers in their communities. She also received training to assist students in University admissions, college essay writing, and scholarships.

Latif Hasi – MYP Math and Physics and DP Mathematics

Latif Hasi is an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher with a passion for science and mathematics. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree, further expanding his knowledge and expertise.

Mr. Hasi’s dedication to his field is exemplified by his role as a corresponding author in two published scientific papers: “Seismic Hazard Analysis by Neo-Deterministic Seismic Hazard Analysis Approach (NDSHA) for Kosovo” and “Determination of the Velocity of Seismic Waves for the Location of Seismic Station of Zatriq, Kosovo.”

Mr. Hasi possesses a profound interest in mathematics and recognizes its significance in enriching the study of physics. He firmly believes that effective teaching goes beyond the mere transfer of information. Instead, it should focus on sparking students’ imaginations and nurturing their innate desire to learn.

Mr. Hasi strives to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive and develop a lifelong passion for learning. He joined ILG in 2021 and is excited to return to continue teaching MYP and DP Physics and DP Mathematics in the secondary school.

Laura Delgado – PYP Music

Ms. Laura Delgado was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She started her musical journey at the “Centro de Education Musical Moderna “ (CEMM) where she completed all of her Piano and Music Theory Certifications of the ABRSM, from Grades 1 through 6. Then, Moved to Princeton, New Jersey to pursue her Bachelor’s in Music Education with a concentration in Voice at Westminster Choir College. Laura has worked as a teacher for a variety of grades, from Nursery all the way to grade 12. As a Musician, Laura plays several instruments such as Piano, Ukulele, Cello, and is a Vocal Pedagogue. She has sung various Masterpieces like the Mozart Requiem, Bach’s B minor Mass, and Handel’s Messiah with the Philadelphia Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic under the direction of Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
Holding a love for international teaching, Laura always lived by the
intercultural exchange of experiences and knowledge. Loving how much one can learn from a student and a place as a teacher and a person.

Liz Emmert – Grade 5 Homeroom Teacher

Ms. Liz Emmert graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, with her Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education with endorsements in both reading and teaching English as second language. She is originally from a Topeka, Kansas.

Ms. Emmert became a familiar face to ILG this spring while she completed her student teaching experience through her University. Teaching internationally has been Ms. Emmert’s goal for quite some time now and she is so excited to begin her teaching journey here at ILG.

Melissa Ferraris – Grade 4 Homeroom Teacher

Ms. Melissa Ferraris is a newly qualified teacher from South Africa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Intermediate and Senior Phase teaching. She has previous experience as a camp leader, a student teacher, a tutor, a reader/scribe and a teacher.

She completed a 4 year internship at a primary school in South Africa during her studies and completed Apple Teacher training, as well as TEFL. She is extremely excited to meet her students and be involved in the ILG School community.

Ms. Ferraris loves to meet new people. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends, going on mini adventures, trying new food, dancing and doing her own gel manicures.

Njomza Neziri – MYP English Language Acquisition and Grade 10 Homeroom Teacher

Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature from AAB College. Through her studies in college, she had the opportunity to be an intern in her primary school, then she saw how amazing was to work with children!  During her studies, she decided to promote a local NGO for empowering women, which was held in her home and had its focused to promote Women’s Rights, while she helped them to learn basic reading and writing in English. Njomza worked also as a translator, Project Associate Project Assistant for different NGOs based in Kosovo. She was an ESL teacher for children and adults in Prishtina.  She holds a certificate in Advancing Learning Webinar from Global Teachers Festival 2022. During summer/winter vacations Njomza helps international students with their homework. She speaks English and German.

She loves visiting new places and also hiking because that helps her to breathe during the weekend, to start her week fresh and relaxed! 

Njomza is currently working with Kamp Kosovo and from September she is super thrilled that has to contribute her experiences as Teaching Assistant at ILG.

 She believes that teaching is the one profession that creates all other professions.

Oana Moraru – MYP and DP French

Oana Moraru is a dedicated and passionate French instructor with a talent for making language learning enjoyable and engaging. Her enthusiasm for teaching French as a second language led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in French Language and Literature and a Masters’ degree in Education, with a specialization in French as a Second or Foreign Language.

With several years of experience in language instruction, Ms. Oana  has honed her teaching skills to cater to students of diverse backgrounds and proficiency levels. She believes in creating a supportive and interactive classroom environment where students feel empowered to take risks and communicate in French with confidence. Her patient and encouraging approach enables students to overcome language barriers and develop strong linguistic foundations. She has taught in France, the United Arab Emirates and China.

Beyond her role as an instructor, Ms. Oana is an advocate for cultural exchange and intercultural understanding. She organizes various cultural events and activities, such as film screenings and conversation clubs, to expose her students to the rich tapestry of French language and culture.

Ms. Oana’s infectious enthusiasm and dedication to her students’ success make her a beloved instructor among her students. Through her creative teaching methods and genuine passion for the French language, Ms. Oana inspires learners to not only develop proficiency in French but also to embrace the beauty and diversity of the Francophone world.

Gresa Kurti – PYP German and PYP Visual Arts

Ms. Gresa Kurti has over thirteen years of work experience as a communication and language specialist and art practitioner.  She graduated from the University of Pristina in 2012 with a BSc. degree in German Language and Literature, and currently finishing a

Master of Arts Degree in Ceramics Sculpture and Teaching at the University of Arts in Tirana, Albania.

 

Ms. Kurti  started working with the German language as an interpreter for a select few private companies in Kosovo. Between 2019-2021 she worked for a well-known private language school in Prishtina as a German Language Teacher. She also worked a freelance German communication and teaching specialist for high level individuals. She joined ILG School in January 2024.

In addition to her affinity for language and communication she has a deep-rooted artistic calling. In 2017, she founded her ceramics studio “Vjaskë” and in 2019 in Pristina, she debuted with her first exhibition titled “Eshkë Dashnie – Glimmer of Love” chosen in honor of the inauguration of Europe House supported by the Office of the European Union in Kosovo. 

Her passion for teaching led her to start individual and personalized pottery courses, and her drive for creating led Ms. Kurti to publish her first book titled “With hands in clay, ceramics for beginners”.

Ferkije Pervetica – Grade 3 Teaching Assistant and Counselor Corner Teacher

Ms. Ferkije Pervetica holds a Master’s degree in Psychology: Learning Sciences from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Due to her distinguished achievements during her studies, Ms. Pervetica received multiple scholarships from the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation in Kosovo, the University of Prishtina, and the Deutschlandstipendium in Germany.

Ms. Pervetica has previous experience as a teaching assistant at Ludwig Maximilian University in Germany and as an intern at the National Association of Autism in Kosovo. She strongly believes in the power of hands-on activities, group discussions, and curiosity driven classes, which help students learn how to learn.

Ms. Pervetica speaks Albanian, English, Turkish, and a little German. She enjoys exploring nature, reading, and taking care of cats.

Summer Camp 2023

The ILG School Summer Camp is back! Join us from Monday, 26 June, through Friday, 28 July, from 08:30-15:00. Registration is open to current students, new students, and children that do not attend ILG School from ages 2-16. (Early Years 1 – Grade 11 for the 2023-2024 school year.) We look forward to welcoming you for a summer of fun!
