Donika Hamiti – Daycare Teaching Assistant/Nurse

Ms. Donika Hamiti joined ILG School as a nurse and a pre-school teaching assistant in 2019. She graduated from the University of Prishtina with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, and she has almost completed her Master’s Degree in Health Management.

During her studies she has worked in pediatric hospital and she is very happy to be part of this wonderful community and make it not only her job but her passion.

Ms. Hamiti has been working with children for over ten years now and she loves watching and helping children reach their greatest potential. Outside of school she loves traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Hasnija Prelvukaj Moesman – Community Education Coordinator

Mrs. Hasnija (Haska) Prelvukaj-Moesman received her university degree and master in architecture from the University of Pristina and she is currently getting a degree in “Child Care and Welfare”.

Mrs. Moesman’s career in architecture was sidetracked when she had the opportunity to work and live abroad in the Gaza Strip, Solomon Islands, and Sudan.

Mrs. Moesman became involved in an elementary school in Gizo, Solomon Islands, that was accommodated in a UNICEF tent after the 2007 earthquake that hit the island state, as a volunteer teacher. Later, when she moved to Khartoum, she served as library assistant, learning center teacher, substitute teacher, and pre-school homeroom teacher at the Khartoum American School.

In addition, she was the President of the PTA at the same school for four years. This experience laid the foundation for where she is now as a teacher. Mrs. Moesman joined ILG in September 2014 as a Grade 2 Teacher. In March 2020, She took on the role of Team Coordinator for Grade 4 during Virtual Learning.

Ms. Moesman now leads our Daycare Program for 1-3 year olds. Mrs. Moesman is trained in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). Mrs. Moesman and her husband have two children. She loves traveling, as well as gardening and spending time with the family in the family home in Montenegro.

Korab Maloku – PYP and MYP Physical Education (PE) Teacher

Mr. Korab Maloku joined ILG School as the Physical Education teacher in 2014. He has a degree in Physical Education and Sports from the University of Prishtina. Korab is now trained to teach the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP).

Mr. Maloku was a former professional basketball player. He has experience as a youth basketball coach since March 2010 and has participated in several basketball clinics and seminars in Kosovo and abroad. He also participates in the Independent Organization of Sport Education in Kosovo (OESK). In the summer of 2018, he was Assistant Director of Kosovo national basketball camp U14, organized from Basketball Federation of Kosovo.

During 2019 Mr. Maloku was the assistant coach of the U16 national team of Kosovo at the European Championships in Podgorica.

Leonida Mahmuti – Educational Support Services Teacher

Ms. Leonidë Mahmuti holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from AAB University, Prishtina and  is about to complete her Master’s degree in this area. Ms.Mahmuti is a TESOL/TEFL certified teacher from World TESOL Academy. She is also certified to teach English to young and adult learners. Ms.Mahmuti is trained to teach the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). She also teaches Spanish as part of the Language Academy program. 

Ms. Mahmuti has more than six years of teaching experience. She worked as an English teacher with different groups of students prior to starting at ILG in 2019. Her greatest passion in life is teaching and she is pleased to continue her teaching career at ILG School. 

Ms. Mahmuti likes reading, cooking, and learning new languages. She speaks Albanian, English, Spanish, Italian, and a little Turkish.

Mirlinda Kusari – Whole School Librarian

Ms. Mirlinda Kusari has a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Psychology from University of Prishtina. After a few years of experience in administration she joined ILG in 2010. In administration, Mirlinda was part of major developments of the school and has contributed not only to administering the ‘student lifecycle’ from registration or admission to graduation or leaving, but also to the academic coordination and substitute teaching.

Ms. Kusari became a teaching assistant during the school year 2017-2018. As of school year 2019- 2020, she is the whole school Librarian. ILG School uses Follett Destiny Library Manager for managing their library resources, and Ms. Kusari has been trained in this library management system and is helping to strengthen the crucial bond between the library, the classroom, and home.

Ms. Kusari is also trained in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) which is vital as she works with each homeroom teacher to support their units of inquiry.

Shkëlqesa Sadiku – EY Specialist and PYP Music Teacher

Ms. Shkëlqesa Sadiku, holds a Bachelor’s degree in instrumental flute from the University of Pristina. During her Bachelor studies she won the Erasmus+ Program Scholarship to study Jazz music in Saint Louis Music College in Rome, Italy. There, she held multiple concerts with the College’s Latin, Pop and Jazz Orchestras and the Brazilian Choir. She is currently studying for a Masters in Flute Performance. She plays flute, piano and the ukulele.

Ms. Sadiku has shown talent and interest in music since her kindergarten days. She competed in the X-Factor Albania 2, where she was distinguished as one of the most remarkable voices. Ms. Sadiku worked as a Music Professor at Philological Gymnasium “Eqrem Çabej”- Pristina. She speaks
English, German and Italian.

Ms. Sadiku is an enthusiastic music teacher, eager to impart love of music as well as history, vocal
techniques and performance experience onto students. Ms. Shkëlqesa Sadiku joined ILG School in February
2020 and is delighted to substitute for us whenever the need arises.

Vlona Rexhepi – MYP PHE, ES PE TA & Service as Action Coordinator

Ms. Vlona Rexhepi was born and raised in Slovenia. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Sports from the University of Prishtina. She is in the process of completing her Master’s degree this year. Ms. Rexhepi is now trained in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP).

Ms. Rexhepi was a professional table tennis player and played for the Slovenian national team and later for the Kosovo national team. Being a professional player, she had the opportunity to travel the world and to learn new things about different cultures.

Ms. Rexhepi joined ILG in 2017 as the PE assistant. Ms. Rexhepi also owns a gym called ‘BeeFit’ for children where the goal is developing motor skills and bringing joy to children.

Rebecca Bowery – Head of Secondary and MYP Coordinator

Ms. Rebecca Bowery has been teaching French for 26 years. She is from the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States and has a Bachelor’s Degree in French from Radford University in Virginia. Ms. Bowery taught middle school and high school French for 14 years in the US before she decided to teach overseas. Overseas she has taught French for two years in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, four years in Dubai at GEMS World Academy Dubai (where she gained my experience in MYP French Language Acquisition and DP French B and French Ab Initio), one year in Mexico (Grade 3), and she is currently in her fifth year at Albanian College Durres. Ms. Bowery’s experience at ACD includes PYP and MYP French Language Acquisition, and DP French B. She is also TEFL/TESOL certified and is certified to teach English to young learners, online learning, business and resort English, and English for standardized examinations. Ms. Bowery’s love of French language and culture started at a very young age. As soon as she could she started studying the language, and in university she decided that she wanted to share her love of the language and culture with others and completed her university studies as a teacher.

Ms. Bowery has completed a summer undergraduate course and a teacher course at l’Université Catholique de l’Ouest in Angers, France. In the US she was very active in French activities with her students, and promoting the study of French in her region, which lead to an invitation to a thank you dinner at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C. by the ambassador.

Ms. Bowery has also been involved in a sister-city program between Fréjus, France and Fredericksburg, Virginia. She is still friends with her sister-city host family and has visited them every year for the past 19 years. I love to travel and decided that I wanted to teach overseas in 2008 and have been traveling all over the world since then. I have had the pleasure of leading students on several Week Without Walls trips to Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, France, and China. At her current school, Ms. Bowery was part of the PYP, MYP, and DP teams which achieved all three authorizations in one year in 2017. This is an endeavor that not many schools dare try and of which she is very proud.

Melena Slaven – Counsellor

Ms. Slaven is from the United States, but has been living abroad for almost 15 years. For the past four years she has been living and working in Beijing, China where she is a mental health counselor for a local NGO. She also teaches English and psychology. Before Beijing she lived in Seoul, South Korea and on the pacific islands of Tinian, Saipan, and Guam.

Ms. Slaven is a board certified mental health counselor (NCC) and certified rehabilitation counselor (CRC). NCCs have voluntarily met high national standards for the practice of counseling. They are competent in skills such as human growth and development, social and cultural foundations, helping relationships, group counseling, career counseling, assessment, research and program evaluation, and professional counseling.

The CRC is the premier credential designed specifically for rehabilitation counselors and have advanced education and work experience specific to serving individuals with disabilities. Ms. Slaven loves to travel and meet new people. She has friends from all over the world! She has a positive and fun attitude! She is extremely excited to start her role at ILG and can’t wait to meet you all!

Besim Uka – Finance and Administrative Manager

Mr. Besim Uka holds a BA in International Sales and Marketing from the International Business College in Mitrovica with a double degree from Lillebaelt Academy of Professional Higher Education in Denmark.

Mr. Uka has attended a number of relevant trainings, including USAID Young Entrepreneurs Program, a training on Entrepreneurship Skills Development Program, EUKOSVET VI, and an EU funded and administered training on Entrepreneurship Skills for New Venture Creation.

Mr. Uka has extensive professional experience in the field of business management. In 2013, he moved to the banking sector when he joined TEB Sh.A and worked there until 2015. Then, in 2015, he started working at Banka Ekonomike Sh.A where he worked for four years in different departments and held different positions. More specifically, he served as a Corporate Officer at the Corporate Department as well as a Branch Manager.

Mr. Uka joined ILG School in November 2019 in the role of Finance and Administrative Manager.
